About

I have been married to the same amazing woman since 1996 (Monnie). We have 4 children, a son-in-law, and a granddaughter who are the joy of our lives. We also have two dogs, two cats (Catticus Finch and Ginger!), 4 guinea pigs, and a turtle to complete our family.  Kentucky is my home and has been all of my life. I took bachelor’s degrees from both Temple Baptist College and the Northern Kentucky University.  I earned the MDiv and the PhD from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. I did my doctoral work in the Billy Graham School of Missions, Evangelism and Church Leadership. The title of my dissertation was “A Rhetorical Analysis of the Preaching of Evangelist Asahel Nettleton During the Second Great Awakening.” I served as a pastor of local churches for over 24 years all over the state of Kentucky before deciding in 2020 that I wanted a change in the way that I ministered.  So I set out to begin a second career in nursing.

Currently, I am in nursing school, pursuing an associate degree to become a RN.  I work as a CNA (nursing assistant) at a large regional hospital and continue to lead a small “house-church” in Northern Kentucky.  Although my priorities have shifted a bit in the last 2 years, I stilI love ministry and long to see church life reformed so that the church looks more like the committed, called-out, holy people of God that we see in the book of Acts. My spiritual heroes are men like John MacArthur, Charles Spurgeon, Asahel Nettleton, Billy Graham, Alistair Begg, and Albert Mohler. I enjoy the outdoors and time with my family.  I formerly taught as an adjunct professor for the Northern Kentucky University and hope to return to education someday soon. I am an avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals, pro-wrestling, and pop-culture!  I also collect and enjoy LOTS of comic books, action figures and all things nerdy!
